Hays Travel help raise money for miracle MillieHide
A HAYS Travel manager has helped fundraise for the Brittle Bone Society after hearing the story of a little girl born with 30 broken bones.
Hays Travel Head of Telesales Homeworkers, Michelle Martin, attended the charity event last Saturday, helping to raise over 3000 pounds for the Brittle Bone Society.
Hays Travel donated a 200 pound voucher for the auction on the night, as well as donating a spa break for the family and a Disney hamper for the little girl.
Millie Simpson was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, or brittle bones, in January 2011. She had 30 broken bones when she was born. Despite doctors warning her mum and dad at a 36-week scan that her chances of survival were 'poor', Millie is now two and doing really well despite the odds. She breaks her bones regularly though and has to have an operation in April to have her legs rodded.
More than 200 people attended the charity auction night on Saturday that mum, Stevie Simpson, organised to raise money for The Brittle Bone Society. They managed to raise 3,181 pounds in total.
Stevie Simpson said: "I just can't thank people enough for all the support they have given. I especially want to thank people like Michelle Martin from Hays Travel who donated a holiday voucher as a prize, organised a Disney hamper for the kids and even gave me and Tyler a spa day - she's just been so amazingly kind and generous."
